Business Analyst
Our client is looking for a process-focused professional to improve various business processes. This individual will be responsible for developing a clear understanding of our businesses and related processes—including purchasing, sales order entry, shipments, export documentation, invoicing, cash collections, and more—to work with the various teams to make our processes more effective. The individual in this role will interact regularly with sales, sales support, transportation, accounting, IT, and management. You do not need to have prior experience in the wood products industry to succeed in this role. The position will report directly to the Financial Manager and will be an integral member of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop an in-depth knowledge of Hampton’s ERP systems (Epicor LumberTrack, Microsoft Dynamics – Great Plains) to provide business process support to various groups.
Fully understand the various business processes including how sales, purchasing, inventory and financial data is managed, reported, and used across the organization.
Drive engagement in Continuous Improvement internally through ongoing review of processes, personnel, strategic planning, data analysis, etc.
Manage customer rebate programs, ensuring accurate sales data is used to validate accrual amounts, and submitting totals for reporting, payments, and other approvals.
Lead training initiatives and process improvement projects (including Kaizen events) to further develop knowledge within various teams and execute the implementation of more efficient business processes.
Define specifications for new reports and tools based on business user inputs, and work with internal developers or third party solution providers to ensure delivered results meet the needs of the business.
Support execution of business plans associated with operational changes and new business ventures.

Skills and Abilities:
Self-starter with the ability to take responsibility and ownership of assigned projects.
Identification, development and execution of continuous improvement objectives.
Strong communication skills with an ability to build support for projects and initiatives and effectively explain difficult concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Organized and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on encouraging lean business practices and ensuring implemented projects meet business needs.
Assertive and responsible, while exemplifying the highest levels of ethics, honesty and integrity.
Advanced competency in Microsoft Office suite applications, particularly Microsoft Excel functionality such as lookup functions, pivot tables, advanced formulas and macros.
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain management, computer science, or an equivalent field required.
Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma required.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus.
At least three years of relevant experience preferred.
Experience within the lumber manufacturing or wholesaling industry a plus.
Experience and knowledge creating and developing queries and reports from SQL a plus.
Experience using Epicor LumberTrack a plus.
