The Azure SysOps Engineer works within the software engineering group, to ensure that software systems, sub- systems and components are successfully integrated the Azure infrastructure. Establishes correctness, completeness and security of software systems assuring their quality and identifying potential improvement opportunities.
Azure SysOps Engineer Responsibilities
Specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health and monitoring and reporting tools.
Designing and/or implementing automated testing, deployment and performance analysis systems.
Conducting failure mode analysis in complex distributed systems.
Reviewing and refining design and architecture documents presented by partner teams for operational readiness, fault tolerance and scalability.
Will maintain an accurate inventory of all cloud assets.
Manage directly assigned tasks, and on-call duties gracefully.
Collaborate with primary team members and leaders within the company to meet company objectives.
Research and remain current on technical aspect of the position and best practices and incorporate new ideas and technologies as they align with the company goals.
Implement and Support DevOps CI/CD pipelines to support provisioning of dynamic cloud-based resources in support of delivering multi-tiered HA applications, services, databases, and capabilities using Azure cloud services.
Maintain a deep understanding and awareness of technology advancements for future cloud, software, and other relative implementations and capabilities to support architecting, engineering, and planning activities.
Azure SysOps Engineer Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on experience operating Azure systems (preference gives to Azure Certifications).
Demonstrated successes in applying the system engineering process for product specification, design, development, integration, test and delivery.
Experience in at least three (3) of the following: Set-up, configuration and support of cloud virtual networks; developing and maintaining system applications and security; developing and maintaining network configurations; troubleshooting network and system performances issues; developing and maintaining disaster recovery methods; and/ or ensuring proper documentation, coordination and maintenance of multiple systems.
An affinity to learning and being able to quickly apply new knowledge for the benefit of our systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to translate complicated technical issues for a non-technical audience.
Identify, research, and validate known and unknown vulnerabilities on Cloud environments/infrastructure.
Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary teams to identify gaps, address findings, and improve breach response in cloud environments.
Support, drive, and contribute to security awareness within the organization, around secure use of cloud services and technology.
Knowledge of best practices in an always-up, always-available service offering.
Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience and/or good understanding of tracking software quality metrics.
Familiarity with Agile product development methodology is a plus.
