Avaya Telecom Engineer
Our client is looking for an Avaya Telecom Engineer to join their team. This position will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting a variety of mission critical Avaya telecom infrastructure and call center applications. This individual will fill the role of a Technology Services Principle Systems Analyst – Telecom. They will work closely with members of this team and other technical teams, project managers, and internal customers. This position is primarily remote.
Avaya Telecom Engineer Responsibilities
Administration and support of the Avaya CM suite, Work Force Optimization suite components, design and configuration of connectivity from these systems to ancillary systems.
Responsible for system and procedural documentation and diagrams.
Primary focus as the Avaya architect recommending a roadmap for the future of Avaya.
Provide training and knowledge transfer to existing telecommunications staff.
Review and document the current telephony environment.
This deliverable is intended to highlight the strengths, recommend areas for improvement within our environment, and to then develop plans to leverage existing infrastructure
Avaya Telecom Engineer Qualifications
7 years direct experience supporting Avaya telecommunications environments in greater than 5000 endpoints and multi-location organizations.
5 years direct and demonstratable experience supporting Avaya/Verint call center applications.
5 years direct experience with the development of telecommunications roadmaps in the Avaya space.
3 years direct experience with SIP service install, configuration and management.
High aptitude for interpreting and using technical documentation, and authoring or updating technical documents and procedures using Word, Excel, Visio, and Wiki.
Experience organizing and reviewing the work of other technical IT staff.
Team lead experience preferred.
Experience in training and mentoring junior personnel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to communicate technical concepts clearly with technical and non-technical staff and managers.
Self-starter, with strong organizational and task management skills.
Demonstrated ability to be productive in remote work situations.
Additional Desired Qualifications
Metropolitan/governmental telecommunication experience.
Experienced in the architecture and design for new Avaya telecom installations.
Avaya CM 7.x/8.x Certified.
Experience with Avaya Contact Center Express.
Experience with Avaya Call Management System (v7 and V8).
Experience with Avaya Application Enablement Server.
Experience with Avaya Call Center Elite Multichannel.
Experience with Avaya Session Border Controllers.
Understanding of PII, PCI and HIPPA security requirements.
Experience conducting reviews highlighting strengths, recommending areas for improvement, and developing plans to leverage existing infrastructure are strongly preferred.
