Assistant Finance Director
Our Portland area public client is looking for an Assistant Finance Director to help oversee accounting and finance functions. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to have a seat at the table of a collaborative and dynamic organization. This role will offer the opportunity to manage and mentor an efficient and friendly team while providing insight and expertise on policy and procedures that will directly impact the surrounding community.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Director
Support management of accounting and finance operations.
Manage budgeting and forecasting.
Oversee fixed assets.
Budget to actuals.
Financial reporting and analysis.
Statistical analysis.
Financial modeling.
Revenue and cost proposals.
Develop work plans and schedules for accounting and finance staff.
Support recruitment efforts and performance evaluations.
Develop, train, and mentor accounting staff.
Assist with audits.
Ensure financial and operational compliance.
Serve as interim Finance Director when needed.
Support the continuous development and implementation of accounting, finance, and operational policy, best practice, and process improvements.
Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Assistant Finance Director Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; equivalent education and experience; CPA or CMA preferred.
3 years of technical accounting and budgeting experience.
1+ year of supervisory experience.
Public works or service background preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP and Oregon Budget Law.
