Assistant Controller
Our well-established and privately held Portland area client is looking for an Assistant Controller to oversee the day-to-day functions of the accounting department. This role will manage AP and general ledger functions, financial reporting, and month-end closing. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller
Oversee general ledger transactions and reconciliations.
Manage AP functions.
Multi-state payroll processing.
Develop, manage, train, and supervise accounting staff.
Ensure proper monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
Month-end closing.
Journal entries.
Manage inventory controls.
Support the continuous development and implementation of accounting policy, best practice, internal controls, and process improvements.
Oversee audit preparations.
Special projects and duties as assigned.

Assistant Controller Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
3+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with some supervisory experience; public accounting experience preferred.
Inventory experience preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP and operational compliance.
Sales tax experience.
MS Office Suite experience, with skills in Excel and Word.
ERP systems knowledge.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Organized multitasker with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
