Applications Support Specialist
Our client is looking for an Applications Support Specialist to join their team.
Applications Support Specialist Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance, user support, and customer service on company-supported computer applications and platforms.
Respond to incoming queries and issues related to Engineering applications. Track and route problems and requests, and document resolutions.
Troubleshoot problems and advise on the appropriate action. Run diagnostic programs, isolate problem, and determine and implement solution.
Liaison with enterprise Information Systems teams. Assist with application installations and onboarding of new users.
Prepare activity reports. Document internal procedures.
Provide Engineering application licensing tracking and acquisition support.
Support application licensing requirements including reassignment of licenses to end users and monitoring license utilization.
Consult with customers, analyze customer’s business requirements, review potential solutions and proposes future options.
Create, manage and maintain documentation in support of application license and portfolio management.
Establish and maintain standards; identify and address improvement opportunities to reduce waste and inefficiency.
Participate in continuous improvement for Engineering’s processes and tools.
Support metrics that help drive decisions related to Engineering processes and applications.
Applications Support Specialist Qualifications
Line of business application help desk support experience. Prefer experience in the engineering and manufacturing industries.
Technical Support Experience. Preference given to tier 2+.
Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment.
Licensing server and configuration awareness for floating license usage.
Strong customer service orientation and skills.
Knowledge and experience of customer service practices.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Proven teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Understanding of basic network topology and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of and understanding of the OSI model and various layers of an IT infrastructure.
SolidWorks or other CAD authoring tools experience.
PDM experience with Enovia, SmarTeam, Teamcenter or Aras Innovator.
PLM/PDM systems configuration and support expertise. Specific skills include but are not limited to workflow management, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, and change control.
Familiarity with NIST guidelines or concepts.
Technical associate’s or bachelor’s degree (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics).
2-5 years in a manufacturing environment.
