Android Software Engineer
Our client is looking for an Android Software Engineer to join their Mobile Engineering team in Beaverton, Oregon. This position will be a 6 month contract, ideally starting early/mid June 2019.
The Mobile Engineering team is responsible for delivering customer solutions on Android and iOS platforms that are maintainable, scalable, and of the highest quality. They use the Agile development process, and value employees who foster collaboration between team members.
They are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, and the ability to successfully interact with fellow team members and project managers on a daily basis. This person will participate in the architecture, design, development, and support of a suite of native mobile products.
Android Software Engineer Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications.
Write unit, integration, and functional tests.
Participate in design/code reviews.
Document software designs and project tasks.
Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on software design.
Work with team members to improve development processes and practices.
Android Software Engineer Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years working in the native Android platform.
Android platform: Fluent with Android Studio, ADB, Gradle, etc.
Kotlin: Fluent reading and writing.
Java: Ability to read and convert Java to Kotlin.
Android UX / Material Design: According to best practices and standards.
Testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, Espresso.
Design Principles and Patterns: According to best practices.
Additional Preferred Skills:
REST APIs: Consumption of REST APIs from mobile client.
Firebase Tools: GCM, Crashlytics, Remote config, etc.
Code analysis tools: Linters (e.g. KLint, Checkstyle), Static code analysis (e.g. SonarCloud).
Mobile CI solutions: Bitrise.io or similar.
Test automation: Espresso, Appium, etc.
Cloud Native Development: Build and deploy in AWS, Azure, or Google.
