Accounts Receivable Analyst
Our client is seeking a Accounts Receivable Analyst to join their team in Newberg, OR. This position applies payments, analyzes financial and credit information on new dealer/customer applications and delinquent accounts, conducts preliminary research, prepares final analyses, and makes recommendations to senior leadership within the guidelines of the Credit and Collections policy.
Accounts Receivable Analyst Responsibilities
Investigates and analyzes credit applications, obtains credit information, and prepares credit reports for Accounting Supervisor and Director of Finance on new customer applications.
Also makes recommendations on credit procedures and lines of credit and/or credit limits for specific customers.
Maintains communication with customers regarding account status, problems and errors, and negotiates with customers to establish agreeable payment schedules.
Performs account collection procedures as needed to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances and is responsible for preparing reports on delinquent accounts and subsequent actions taken.
Recommends write-offs or credits to customer account balances, authorizes product returns, determines when to collect interest charges for late payments, and when to issue prompt payment discounts.
Makes bank deposits for payments received, applies payments, resolves differences between payments and invoices, initiates credits and adjustments to accounts, and prepares reports accordingly.
Reviews and assesses financial and shipping arrangements for foreign shipments, including Cash in Advance, Letters of Credit, and Incoterms, and monitors for legal compliance risk, including compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Develops and updates Credit and Collection policies and procedures when necessary and is responsible for leading the monthly Accounts Receivable Review meeting.
Prepares journal entries, posts information to appropriate records, balances records, and reviews and issues monthly statements to customers/dealers.
Responsible for IFF processing, including analysis of report for accuracy and ensuring completion on a timely basis.
Ensure payments processed via Credit Card are done accurately and timely. Lead project to evaluate Credit Card payment cost effectiveness.
Accounts Receivable Analyst Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, credit and collections exposure, and/or other relevant experience along with approximately two years of accounting coursework.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, using judgment to shift priorities as necessary, and must also be well organized and detail oriented.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, along with the ability to use tact and persuasion to obtain desired results.
Demonstrated ability to operate a 10-key calculator with accuracy along with general math skills to understand calculations and financial data.
Must also have at least intermediate level knowledge of spreadsheets and database software.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
