Accounts Payable Specialist
Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Newberg, OR. This role is responsible for analyzing all accounts payable documents for accuracy, investigating questionable data and taking corrective action when necessary. This position requires great initiative and judgment to make sure all invoices and coding are accurate and have been properly documented and approved prior to payment.
Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities
Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system. Audits and processes credit card bills.
Pays vendors through a 3-way match by resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; monitoring discount opportunities; ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
Prepares batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions domestically and internationally.
Updates and maintains vendor database in adherence to new vendor set-up requirements.
Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to the appropriate persons. Creates and modifies reports utilizing electronic spreadsheets and database software to summarize business and financial activities.
Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records, and reports.
Accounts Payable SpecialistQualifications
2-3 years in Accounts Payable or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
High proficiency in MS Office, particularly with Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and lead peers.
Demonstrates good organizational skills and the ability to manage time and resources effectively.
Demonstrates successful operation of a customer service environment.
