Accounting Manager
Our highly diverse Portland-based nonprofit client is looking for an outstanding Accounting Manager to oversee AP, banking functions, as well as internal and external audits while managing a team of 5.  If you’re a fast paced, detail oriented individual looking for an excellent role with a mission driven company and room for upward mobility, this may be the opportunity for you.  

Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager
Oversee accounting and payroll.
Develop, manage, and train AP/AR and payroll staff.
Conduct performance reviews annually and as needed.
Lead the continuous development and implementation of accounting and payroll policy, best practice, and process improvements.
Manage month- and year-end closing.
Ensure accounting and payroll regulatory compliance.
Cash and payments management.
Manage company credit cards and banking relationships.
Balance sheet reconciliations.
Financial statements and reporting.
Journal entries.
Manage bank transfers.
Review payroll.
Cash flow forecasting.
Prepare audits and schedules.
Tax and audit research.
Check runs.
Insurance and prepaids.
Fund payroll account.
Ad hoc reporting as requested.
Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Accounting Manager Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; equivalent education and experience.
High volume AP/AR processing experience required.
Nonprofit and mid-to large size accounting experience preferred.
Understanding of complex reconciliations.
Advanced knowledge of GAAP.
MS Office Suite experience, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and Word; knowledge of formatting, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPS.
ERP systems knowledge; Sage and Yardi preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Organized multitasker with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Can work independently and as part of a team.
